About
About Andhra University
Andhra University, founded in 1926 in Visakhapatnam, is a historic institution established by Sir C.R. Reddy and early guided by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Spread across 425 acres with 58 departments and 16 research centres, it holds NAAC A++ accreditation (CGPA 3.74) and has produced many distinguished leaders.
The university is known for contributions ranging from C.V. Raman’s early research to modern innovations like the a‑Hub incubator, global collaborations, drone technology programmes, and NEP 2020‑aligned curricula.
Department of Instrument Technology
The Department of Instrument Technology began in 1937 as the Instrument Manufacturing Section and became a full department in 1946 as Applied Physics. It was shifted to the College of Engineering and renamed in 1990, offering B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D. programmes in Instrumentation. All programmes are accredited by NBA and NAAC.
The department is known for strong research in Sensors, Instrumentation, Automation, MEMS, and Nanotechnology, with over 50 Ph.D.s awarded and 30 more in progress. All faculty members are doctorates with publications in reputed journals like IEEE, Springer, and Elsevier. It provides major consultancy services in testing and calibration to industries such as VSP, L&T, and Reliance. With wide applications in areas like IoT, Robotics, and VLSI.
About SPIKES
SPIKES is a national‑level technical symposium organised by Andhra University College of Engineering, originating from the Department of Instrumentation Technology. Over more than 12 years, it has grown into a major technical event. SPIKES 12 saw participation from 800 students across Andhra Pradesh, while SPIKES 14 introduced a landmark Robotics workshop with 120 participants and encouraged research articles from various colleges. SPIKES 16 achieved record participation with nearly 3,000 students, followed by a successful SPIKES 18. Continuing the legacy, SPIKES 20 featured multiple competitions and workshops, building on the symposium’s strong foundation in robotics and technical innovation.

Accommodation
Accommodation can be booked for outstation participants. Please read the rules below and submit your payment details.
Charges & Rules (Accommodation Notice)
- Charges: ₹349 per night (per head).
- Availability: Accommodation will be provided from the night of 11 March 2026 to the night of 13 March 2026 (charged per night).
- You can avail accommodation for 1 night / 2 nights / 3 nights (₹349 per night).
- Food: Dinner on March 11 & 12 will be provided only to participants availing accommodation. Lunch on March 12 & 13 is included in Main Registration. Breakfast will not be provided.
- Stay type: Dormitory accommodation will be provided for boys and girls.
- Belongings: Organisers are not responsible for any loss/damage to your belongings.
- Damage: If a participant causes damage to infrastructure, the participant must compensate.
- Updates: Organisers reserve the right to change rules; any changes will be highlighted on the website and notified to registered participants.
Hackathon (₹499 per team)
Register your team and submit payment proof. Hackathon registration is available only after your SPIKES 26 main registration is approved.
